I am running my 3rd, and last, marathon on Sunday, November 3,
2013 with Team in Training in support of the Leukemia and Lymphona Society. Please
join me in supporting the Leukemia and Lymphona Society, one of the most
effective nonprofits in the United States.
As many of you know, I have 3 close family
members who have been affected by leukemia, including my Great Aunt Ann (who
died of leukemia) and my Uncle Dave (who is living with a manageable form of
leukemia), and I am running the New York City Marathon in their honor. I am
also running to recognize the work of our dear friend, Aki Yokoyama, who is one
of the leading leukemia researchers in the world.
Over the years, I have seen so many of you run,
bike and fundraise with Team in Training, I've always said to myself that I
would do it, too, and finally, I am. But, now I need your help.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more
effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m running
the New York City Marathon, in my former hometown, and as a member of The
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members
of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for
leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of
my life, my family members’ lives, and by participating and with your support,
I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
